The Stephen Ministry is a system through which individuals are trained and organized to help provide Christian care giving to individuals in the congregation and community. The Stephen Ministry is based on the idea that all Christians can be effective, trained caregivers with high quality training – thus equipped to bring Christ’s healing love to people who are grieving, in crisis, or experiencing other stresses in life.

Since its inception here at St. Paul’s in 2004, Stephen Ministers have provided and/or continue to provide one-on-one care, prayer, and support to those going through a difficult time. At the time of their commission, a Stephen Minister commits to serving a minimum of 2 years as a care-giver. The training they have received carries over into all aspects of their life as they utilize the Christian care-giving skills and tools they have acquired to not only their care-receivers, but to friends, family and co-workers, as well.
